Amishland Volunteer Sign-up

Posted on April 9, 2015

Volunteer

Amishland and Lakes (aka ALL) is less than 1 week away. We still have many volunteer spots to fill. Please help.

It takes a significant effort by over 100 volunteers to make ALL happen. We need the assistance of the entire club membership to fill over 200 volunteer slots.

Membership dues only pay for about 15% of the clubs annual budget. The rest of the budget is funded by the profit we make on Amishland. Those profits also enable the club to support cycling in our community, in our state and nationally.

We will be using an on-line volunteer system this year (no more red book). The on-line system will allow you to look through all of the volunteer slots at your convenience and find the best spots for you. Please be sure to enter your t-shirt size.

Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on VolunteerSpot

To encourage volunteers to sign-up and to recognize those who do we are making some changes to our volunteer rewards.

1) If you volunteer 3 hours or more you get an Amishland T-shirt

2) If you volunteer 6 hours or more you get free Amishland Registration

3) If you volunteer 18 hours or more you get 4 free Amishland meals

4) All volunteers who work 3 or more hours will be entered in a drawing for 3 gift cards ($100, $50 and $25)

5) All volunteers will be invited to a volunteer recognition party in October

Bonnie Yoder is the volunteer coordinator for Amishland again this year. Contact Bonnie if you have any questions about volunteering. E-mail her at: marbonyod@att.net

If you earn free Amishland Registration and are going to ride Amishland you will also need to complete a Volunteer Registration / Waiver form. Mail in the form or hand it to Bonnie Yoder or Dick Kuehl. The volunteer registration form is here.

Map Updates

Posted on April 26 2015

The Tuesday / Weekend Dowagiac map was modified several years ago due to Valley Road devolving to dirt. The road is a hard surface again so the map has been reverted to the original map. The Sumnerville Northwest Weekend map has also been updated due to a stretch on the 28 mile route devolving to gravel. The new maps are available on the maps page.

Map Updates

Posted on April 13 2015

One of the suggestions presented to a recent meeting of the Ride Committee was to have more breakfast / brunch rides. Chris has made a number of changes to meet this request. The Sumnerville NE routes have been modified to provide for a food stop at The Wright Place in Sister Lakes. The Bonneyville routes have been modified to provide for a food stop in Middlebury or Shipshewana. The Tuesday and Weekend maps for Sumnerville NE and Bonneyville are now the same. The Prairie View weekend map has also been modified to provide for a food stop in LaPorte. A popular stop in LaPorte is Mucho Mas! - 609 Lincolnway. New maps for these routes are on the maps page.

Amishland and Lakes

Posted on June 21, 2013

Amishland and Lakes (aka ALL) is just 3 weeks away. It takes a significant effort by over 100 volunteers to make ALL happen. A small team has been meeting regularly since last fall to complete the planning and advance preparations for this year's ride. Now we need the assistance of the entire club membership to fill those 100 volunteer slots.

Membership dues only pay for about 15% of the clubs annual budget. The rest of the budget is funded from the profit we make on Amishland. Those profits also enable the club to support cycling in our community, in our state, in the Midwest and nationally.

As a thank you for volunteering you get to ride Amishland for free, you get a free Amishland t-shirt and you are invited to a volunteer thank-you party in the fall.

Bonnie Yoder is the volunteer coordinator for Amishland. Please contact Bonnie and volunteer to help with this year's ride. E-mail her at: marbonyod@att.net

When you volunteer be sure to complete a paper registration form (write vounteer on the top) so that you will get the proper size t-shirt and so there will be a rider package for you at registration.
